Dave Klink

David grew up mostly in Pennsylvania and received his bachelors degree from Penn State.  He received a military scholarship to pay for medical school, graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He spent 28 years on active duty in the Navy. Early in his career he served as an Undersea Medical Officer and later trained in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Pediatric Ophthalmology.  After retiring from the Navy in 2015 he joined Liberty University as they were starting their college of osteopathic medicine.  He moved to Memphis in 2022 to be part of the team establishing an osteopathic medical school at Baptist Health Sciences University.  David and his wife Debbie have been part of the Park Avenue Church family since December 2022.

David and his family were active in the local church throughout his military career, involving several different congregations, as he moved to different duty stations with the military.  He served in different capacities in several churches, including as a deacon and an elder. His primary passion in teaching is systematic theology, having taught through Wayne Grudem’s classic text on the subject several times.   He has been on medical mission trips to Lesotho, Kenya, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas, and hopes to incorporate medical missions into the education of medical students in Memphis.

David and his wife Debbie, who also grew up in Pennsylvania, have been married for 36 years.  They have enjoyed the privilege of growing together in their faith and knowledge throughout the years as part of several different church families.  They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
